My Scientific Method Infographic 


Reflection
I found this project to be a fun and creative way to implement the Scientific Method. Although the rubric could have been a little more clear, or an example be provided, I feel myself and other classmates would not have struggled on exactly what was to be expected. Overall, I was very impressed with my classmates infographic and although I was not in class to attend the presentations, I could see the creativity and time each of us put into this project. 

What did you learn about the Scientific Method? 
I learned that different parts of the Scientific Method is something that people have relied on for centuries. Based on curiosity and using the 4 i’s listed above, one can process just about anything they wish to solve through the scientific method. 

What do you think are the most important characteristics of a scientist?
 what comes to my mind when I think of a scientists characteristics is that one must be okay with failure. I am a firm believer that all people learn through their mistakes. A scientist must have an open mind and be accepting of outcomes they may not support or thought differently about. Scientist but be adaptable, patient, aware, and motivated to continuous research as articles explain, research and coming to a conclusion can take years.

As I think back on my science experiences, the first memory that comes to mind is a volcano I made in 1st grade that was left on my desk for my parents to watch it erupt during open house. I have always found science rather intriguing. I believe it is constantly growing and adapting in a multitude of ways, from its research development to technology. Science was always a subject I throughly enjoyed, whether it was Earth Science and going through the life cycle, to dissecting pigs, and the human body. Being hands on during experiments or simply gathering information, I found all aspects of science to be useful in some way. Chapter 7: Integrating Science and Engineering  Teaching science involves aligning your lessons with next-generation science standards. Science/engineering and language arts can all be incorporated during lessons. You can seek connections with language arts to science lessons. Science/engineering can be incorporated into mathematics. Based on the standards of both math and language arts you can use both in your science lesson and make the lesson even more intriguing.   Science/engineering can also be incorporated into social studies lesson, art and music and health and physical education. Teaching your students that science can be incorporated into all subjects can change their perception of science. CLIMATE CHANGE ! This is not a joke, not something people should think can’t happen, IT IS HAPPENING .  Climate change is now faster and more prominent than ever before. Growing up I can remember hearing about it once and awhile, not ever questioning it or really thinking about more than in that moment. Today I see people standing on the side of busy roadways protesting change be done to help our Earth. Human health, agriculture, energy, ecosystems, and so much more are being impacted and effected by climate change at this very moment. How do we not see an issue with this ? maybe because the time there really is nothing left we may not be around? our children's children will be suffering but we won’t be there so it won’t matter, right?
